Question 20:
Recently I have been hearing a lot about a new strain of dog flu.  Can you please
tell me more about this disease.

Answer:
Canine influenza (dog flu) is a newly emerging respiratory disease of dogs.  It has been diagnosed in several states, usually associated with racing greyhounds.  The virus appears to be closely related to equine influenza virus.  No confirmed cases of canine influenza have been reported in Minnesota to date.  For in depth information, please click here to link to the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine Canine Influenza web page.
